What makes you give up? What would be the ultimatum? Or do you just carry on living a jaded life? Be a cynic? Or even a sarcastic?

These were the questions that came to my mind when I heard my friend's latest predicament. She has finally given up. On hopes that management is transparent, accountable, consistent, responsible and reliable as well as practising fairness in making decisions.

Office politics can be very bad for your mental health. Especially if you have to be the source of people's grunts and anger. Especially when they don't really understand the things that you have to go through under the order of the Powers-that-be. Even when it means being a recluse.

Now, she has put her feet down. She even put her hands down, surrendering herself at the mercy of the Powered People. It's time to say goodbye. It's time to leave this place, which has been her second home for many years. It's time to throw in the towel.

As for me, I think the Powered People will continue to be in power. And for as long as I can, I will be here. Because I see hope in the presence of one very strong minded person, one that is not afraid to implement changes for the betterment of our people, one that is very determined to set the records straight.

But, are the people ready for a change?
